all about the PTO

You provide a voice as to how the funds that are raised should be spent within our school.

The PTO partners with parents, guardians, and educators to enhance student learning and enrich their lives. It also serves as a platform for parents to gain knowledge and express their views on school matters. While fundraising is a key role of the PTO, the funds support essential school programs. Attending meetings allows members to influence how raised funds are allocated.

How the PTO benefits Windy Hill Students

For less than 6 cents a day, you can become a PTO member, joining nearly 6 million other people who share your interest in issues affecting children.

Everyone—parents, educators, students, and community members—are invited to join our nonprofit.

Joining the PTO shows your support for Windy Hill Elementary without any obligation. Your membership aids funding for programs like Family Fun Nights, Assemblies, and Staff Mini Grants, and grants you a vote on key issues. Parents, teachers, and family members are encouraged to join to benefit their children and the school. Here are some advantages:

Get Connected.

There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school.

Discover Great Resources.

The PTO offers a variety of programs designed for parents as well as students.

Tap into a Network.

Parenting is not easy - it helps to share ideas, concerns and experiences with other parents and educators in the community. PTO functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind.

Watch Yourself Grow.

By volunteering with your PTO, you gain valuable experiences.  It’s an opportunity to put your skills and hobbies to good use for a good cause—your child and all children in the community.

Speak Up.

Because the PTO is a forum for exchanging ideas, you are encouraged to make suggestions. PTO can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change at your child’s school.

Witness Improvement.

By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes. Local PTOs play an important role in fundraising to provide building improvements, curriculum-based programs and social events – all vital to a school’s success.

Be A Role Model.

Set a good example for your kids by being involved yourself. By becoming a PTO member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.

It’s flexible.

The PTO has progressed to meet the changing needs of parents. There are a variety of small ways parents can help and be involved in PTO depending on your availability.
